From November 8 to 11, the 2nd High-Speed Railway Precision Measurement Technology Competition Final at the 2024 Belt & Road and BRICS Competition of Skills Development and Technology Innovation was held in Wuhan, Hubei Province. A total of 71 teams from across China participated in this competition. As the firsttime toparticipate in the competition, YRCTI sent three students from the School of Surveying and Mapping Engineering, Ren Wenhao, Ding Shihang, and Zhang Ke, who, after vigorous efforts, won a gold medal in the competition. In addition, YRCTI received the “Best Organization Prize”, and Nie Songguang and Wang Weifeng were honored with the title of “Outstanding Instructor”.

The competition was hosted by the Chinese Council of the BRICS Business Council, the International Alliance for Skills Development along the Belt and Road and BRICS Countries, the Training Center for Skills Development and Technological Innovation along the Belt and Road and BRICS Countries under the China Association for Science and Technology, the China Association of Inventions, and the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange under the Ministry of Education, and jointly organized by Wuhan Railway Vocational College Of Technology and Guangzhou South Railway Measurement Technology Co., Ltd. The competition included five specific events under three categories, including automated monitoring, construction layout, and track precision measurement and adjustment. After overcoming multiple challenges during the competitionandcompleting each event and every detailed operation with seriousness, rigor, meticulousness, and thoroughness, the three students from YRCTI ultimately achieved the first prize.
This outstanding achievement would not have been possible without the high attention and strong support from the leadership at YRCTI and its secondary schools, the rigorous and meticulous guidance from instructors, and the relentless training and tenacious spirit of the participating students. Based on the teaching philosophy of “promoting learning, practice, and education through competitions”, YRCTI has engaged and will continuously engage in skillful exchanges and discussions with high-skilled talents from the same industry and specialty by actively preparing for and participating in competitions, effectively enhancing the professional qualities of both teachers and students.
