On November 21, the World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference, jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, the National Commission of UNESCO in China, and the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, opened in Tianjin. Wang Dongming, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China and President of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and Chen Min’er, Secretary of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, delivered speeches. Huai Jinpeng, Minister of the Ministry of Education presided over the opening ceremony of the Conference and delivered a keynote speech. YRCTI’s Party Secretary Zhou Baoping was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the Conference and the first plenary session of the World Vocational and Technical Education Development Alliance, and delivered a keynote speech at the forum.

At the Forum on “the Construction of Quality Assurance System for Vocational Education”, Zhou Baoping gave a report titled “The Role of School-Enterprise Cooperation in Ensuring Quality at Dayu School”. She engaged with the attending experts and scholars in in-depth discussions on establishing a scientifically sound, well-developed, and efficient vocational education quality assurance system. She introduced the development process of YRCTI's international education, particularly the exploration and practices in establishing Dayu School through school-enterprise collaboration, and ensuring the quality of international talent training. This includes building a comprehensive standard system, implementing whole-process management, and establishing an effective quality feedback mechanism. She stated that YRCTI will continue to deepen school-enterprise cooperation, form a cyclical and ongoing improvement in the quality level of international education, and establish a progressively improved institutional arrangement in the quality assurance system. YRCTI is committed to steadily advancing the path of “going global with enterprises” and contributing vocational education wisdom to the Belt and Road Initiative.

During the Conference, Zhou Baoping engaged in in-depth discussions with delegates from Ethiopia, Thailand, Indonesia, and other countries on the construction of Dayu School and the implementation of the “Chinese + Vocational Skills” project. They jointly explored international development pathways for vocational education.

The 2024 World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference was themed “Innovating to Empower the Future, and Skills Shaping Life”. It featured a series of supporting events, including the establishment meeting of the World Vocational and Technical Education Development Alliance. The Alliance is the first global vocational education cooperation organization led by YRCTI. It consists of 89 institutions from 43 countries and regions, including universities, vocational technical schools, industry enterprises, and educational organizations. YRCTI is one of the founding member units of the Alliance.
