From August 27 to 29, the Biotechnology track finals of the World Vocational College Skills Competition were successfully held in Weifang and Zibo, Shandong Province. Competing against 76 teams nationwide, our delegation from the School of Environmental Engineering—students Lei Ruohan, Zhang Yujie, Cao Jiajie, and Ye Rui, coached by instructors Hu Xiaobing and Zhu Dan—secured the gold medal with exceptional expertise, operational mastery, and teamwork. This historic victory marks both the university's first gold in this category and Henan Province's debut championship.

This achievement exemplifies the university's concrete implementation of national policies on high-quality vocational education development, fully demonstrating the effectiveness of our "competition-driven teaching, learning, and reform" educational mechanism. Biotechnology courses serve as core foundational curriculum for our food and environmental programs, closely aligned with industry technological frontiers while emphasizing practical skills and innovative thinking. The School's well-structured, tiered competition selection and training system has laid a solid foundation for enhancing faculty and student competencies.
This accolade not only demonstrates the university's success in cultivating highly skilled professionals in food engineering and biotechnology, but also serves as authoritative recognition of our achievements in educational reform and program development. Moving forward, the university will leverage this accomplishment to further deepen industry-education integration and enhance the "Curriculum-Competition-Certification-Position" integrated education system. These efforts will strengthen our capacity to serve both industry and regional economic development, contributing significantly to advancing high-quality modern vocational education.
