On August 29, the Finance and Business Track - Championship Finals of the 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition (Higher Vocational Group) concluded at Shanxi Finance & Taxation College. With 824 contestants from 206 teams nationwide competing, our School of Finance and Accounting students—Liu Haiyan, Huang Jingjing, Hua Jiaolengzhi, and Wang Fengjin—coached by instructors Wei Xiaohui and Zhang Man, claimed the silver medal, marking the university's first-ever podium finish in this prestigious event.

Co-organized by China's Ministry of Education and multiple government bodies, with Shanxi Provincial Education Department as the executive organizer, the competition adopted the theme "Skills Illuminate Youth, Competence Creates the Future." Focused on cutting-edge financial technologies, it comprehensively evaluated participants' technical proficiency, professional ethics, practical application, teamwork, and innovation capabilities. Facing revamped competition rules and formats, the university leadership prioritized preparatory work by providing expert guidance and logistical support, with multiple on-site training inspections. The team—combining faculty expertise with student talent—adopted a practice-intensive approach: analyzing real-world industry challenges, refining strategies through iterative simulations, and integrating the School of Finance and Accounting's achievements in industry-education integration and digital transformation into their competition deliverables.
The university's silver medal achievement at the World Vocational Skills Competition not only reflects the individual dedication of our students, but also serves as strong validation of our School's teaching excellence and talent cultivation quality. Building on this success, the School will further deepen industry-education integration and implement the "Curriculum-Competition-Certification-Position" integrated education system to enhance our capacity in serving regional economic development.
