Recently, the Education Department of Henan Province issued a Notice on Publishing the First Batch of Construction Units for the Overseas Vocational Education Project “Dahe Workshop” (JZC [2024] No. 364). YRCTI’s Dahe Workshops in Thailand and Uzbekistan have successfully been listed.

“Dahe Workshop” is a distinctive overseas vocational education project created by Henan Province to innovate international exchange and cooperation mechanisms in vocational education and effectively promote the internationalization of Henan’s vocational colleges and universities. Primarily focusing on “Chinese + Vocational Skills”, the project aims to cultivate much-needed local technical and skilled talents for countries along the Belt and Road and China-invested overseas enterprises and contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind. Through processes including application, eligibility review, expert evaluation, and comprehensive assessment, the first batch of 9 construction units and 5 cultivation units for the overseas project “Dahe Workshop” were selected.

In recent years, YRCTI has actively served the construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative by establishing four overseas Dayu Schools or Colleges in Zambia, South Africa, Thailand, and Ethiopia, to build an overseas education project featuring complete systems and mechanisms, prominent advantages in water conservancy, deep integration of industry and education, and high recognition from the “Belt and Road” countries, cultivating a large number of high-quality technical and skilled talents urgently needed by China-invested overseas enterprises and the “Belt and Road” countries and paving a new distinctive path for the international development of vocational education.

Looking ahead, leveraging the opportunity presented by the construction of the “Dahe Workshop” and focusing on serving the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and China-invested overseas enterprises, YRCTI will introduce a series of teaching standards and course resources with international influence and build a high-level platform for people-to-people exchanges between China and foreign countries while carrying out cultivation of technical and skilled talents, striving to develop the “Dahe Workshop” into an overseas vocational education model featuring collaborative development among government, industries, universities, and enterprises and characterized by Henan features and exemplary effects and contribute wisdom to the high-quality international development of vocational education.
