From November 15 to 18, the National Finals of the First Electrical Automation Common Technology Competition (Vocational College Group) of the 2024 Belt & Road and BRICS Competition of Skills Development and Technology Innovation was successfully held at YRCTI. The competition was hosted by the Chinese Council of the BRICS Business Council, the International Alliance for Skills Development along the Belt and Road and BRICS Countries, the Training Center for Skills Development and Technological Innovation along the Belt and Road and BRICS Countries under the China Association for Science and Technology, and jointly organized by YRCTI, Hangzhou Yimai Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing ARC Xinxing Science and Technology Co., Ltd., and BRICS Academy of Skills Development and Technology Innovation (Xiamen). The competition attracted a total of 107 teams from 47 vocational colleges and universities across 14 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) in China to compete. After intense competition, YRCTI’s team performed exceptionally well, winning two first prizes in the Student Group and two first prizes in the Faculty Group. In addition, YRCTI also received the Outstanding Contribution Prize and the Best Organization Prize.

The competition centered on common technologies in electrical automation and conducted simulations of real-world production scenarios to comprehensively evaluate participants’ integrated capabilities in areas such as electrical design, equipment commissioning, fault diagnosis andtreatment, as well as system optimization. During the event, participants from all teams were spirited and competitive and vied for every second, showcasing their solid professional skills and innovation abilities and highlighting the effectiveness of the deep integration between vocational education and industrial needs.

This competition not only established a crucial platform for the skills development and technology innovation in vocational education but also further demonstrated YRCTI’s active role in deepening reforms in talent cultivation models, enhancing the talent cultivation quality, promoting the high-quality development of modern vocational education, serving national strategies, as well as supporting the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the cooperation among BRICS countries. Going forward, YRCTI will continue to uphold an attitude of openness and cooperation to actively integrate into international exchanges and collaborations and cultivate future talents with international perspectives and high-level technical skills.
