South Ural State University (SUSU, Russian abbreviation: "ЮУрГУ"), established in 1943, is a federal public comprehensive research university located in Chelyabinsk, Russia. As a key higher education and research center in the Ural region, the university currently has 56,000 students (including 2,000 international students) and over 5,000 faculty members (including more than 270 professors and 800 associate professors), as well as more than 340 postdoctoral researchers, 1,300 doctors, and over 150 academicians and corresponding members of Russian and international academies of sciences. The university comprises 14 campuses, 10 colleges and affiliated middle schools, 89 teaching and research offices, and 13 research institutes. It also operates a distance education college and a vocational training institute. SUSU offers a complete talent training system from undergraduate to doctoral levels, providing 264 undergraduate programs, 150 master's programs, 25 specialist programs, and 94 doctoral programs.


SUSU actively engages in international cooperation and has maintained educational exchanges with 48 countries. It boasts 140 international partners, and has established collaboration with over 3,200 enterprises. SUSU is equipped with advanced research facilities, including 40 research laboratories, 8 international joint laboratories, and 68 innovation enterprises. It also possesses the capability to independently develop modern teaching equipment.
The university demonstrates outstanding strengths in machinery manufacturing, physical metallurgy, aerospace, construction engineering, mechanical engineering, and supercomputer technology and has cultivated a large number of high-quality professionals.
