Time:2025-08-21

Mechanical Engineering School is one of the university's key academic units, with its Intelligent Manufacturing program cluster designated as a priority development area under China's "Double High Plan." The School offers seven specialized programs: Mechanical Design & Manufacturing, Intelligent Construction Machinery Application Technology, Mechatronics Technology, Industrial Robotics Technology, CNC Technology, Mold Design & Manufacturing, and Automotive Inspection & Maintenance. Notably, Mechanical Design & Manufacturing is a National-Level Key Program. Industrial Robotics Technology is a Henan Provincial Key Program. Intelligent Construction Machinery Application Technology is a Henan Provincial Pilot Reform Program. Mechatronics Technology is the School's Flagship Program. All programs align with core development fields outlined in "Made in China 2025" strategic plan.

The School houses 14 specialized laboratories and training centers, including: Ministry of Education Industrial Robotics Application Talent Development Center, Industrial Robotics, CNC Technology, Conventional Machining, Hydraulic Transmission, Reverse Engineering, Mold Manufacturing, Automotive Inspection & Maintenance, and Mechatronics Technology, with total equipment value exceeding 70 million yuan. The School employs 51 full-time faculty members, including 5 professors, 12 associate professors, and 1 senior engineer, with 4 holding doctoral degrees and 27 possessing master's degrees. Additionally, 24 practicing engineers and technicians from the mechanical industry are engaged as adjunct instructors to deliver hands-on training.

Students from the Mechanical Engineering School have achieved outstanding results in vocational skills competitions at various levels, including winning first prize in the "Mechanical Product Innovation Design and Manufacturing" event at the 2011 National Vocational Skills Competition, first prize in the "Combat Robots" category at the 2017 World Robotics Contest, second prize in the 2018 "Challenge Cup - Rainbow Life" National Vocational School Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, first prize in the "CNC Multi-Axis Machining" event at the 2018 Belt and Road BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition, silver award at the 2020 China International "Internet Plus" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and gold award at the 2021 edition of the same competition.

The Mechanical Engineering School emphasizes cultivating students' professional foundational competencies and vocational skills, collaborating with multiple enterprises to establish off-campus internship bases. Graduates receive "dual certification" upon completion. The professional education adheres to the institution's philosophy of "serving as the cradle for skilled professionals and the base for technical services," with a strong focus on job-specific skill training to develop market-oriented, highly skilled applied talents.
