Environmental Engineering School currently offers one vocational undergraduate program in Ecological Environmental Engineering Technology and four specialized college programs in Environmental Engineering Technology, Ecological Environment Restoration Technology, Environmental Monitoring Technology, and Food Quality and Safety, with approximately 1,000 enrolled students. It boasts one key disciplinary cluster in Environmental Engineering Technology as a superior backbone program. Notably, the Environmental Engineering Technology program was designated as a national key construction program under the "National Demonstration Institutions" project in 2009.

The faculty is robust and highly qualified. The School employs 43 full-time teachers, including: 1 leading talent in the Central Plains Thousand Talents Plan (Education and Teaching category), 1 Outstanding Party Affairs Worker of Henan Province, 1 Academic and Technical Leader of Henan Province, 2 Academic and Technical Leaders recognized by the Education Department of Henan Province, 1 National Distinguished Teacher in Water Resources, 1 National Academic Leader in Water Resources at Vocational Colleges, 2 Henan Provincial Distinguished Teacher in Vocational Education, 1 Outstanding Teacher of Henan Province, and 16 hold senior professional titles. Among them, 17 possess doctoral degrees, accounting for 40% of the faculty. Additionally, 29 industry professionals with extensive practical experience serve as adjunct lecturers, strengthening the vocational undergraduate education foundation.

The School boasts exceptional experimental and practical training facilities, with an on-campus training area spanning 4,300 square meters and teaching/research equipment worth approximately 76 million yuan. It is equipped with advanced instruments including micro X-ray fluorescence spectrometers (μ-XRF), X-ray diffractometers (XRD), and LC-MS instrument (LC-MS/MS), providing ample practical training grounds for cultivating applied undergraduate talents.

The School boasts a large alumni network with outstanding technical skills. Since its establishment, it has cultivated over 5,000 outstanding graduates, with strong employment outcomes—maintaining an annual employment rate above 95%. The School has been repeatedly recognized as a "Model Unit for Graduate Employment" and ranked first in the university's 2018 employment performance evaluation. In 2019 and 2020, it won first prizes in the National Vocational College Skills Competition (Higher Vocational Group). In 2022, it secured additional national titles: first prizes in "Water Treatment Technology" and "Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Inspection," along with a third prize in "Chemical Laboratory Technology." The School achieved global acclaim in 2024, earning gold in "Food Safety and Quality Testing," silver in "Biotechnology," and bronze in "Environmental Monitoring" at the World Vocational College Skills Competition. It also claimed top honors at the inaugural Belt and Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition, securing two first prizes in the Smart Water Quality Monitoring Point Layout Technology category and two second prizes in Laboratory Safety Technology, among other awards.

The School of Environmental Engineering, after over 70 years of perseverance and academic refinement, has achieved remarkable milestones. It currently hosts 2 Provincial Engineering Research Centers in Henan, 3 Key Municipal Laboratories in Kaifeng, 3 Municipal Engineering Research Centers, and 3 Municipal Innovation-Oriented Scientific Teams, alongside three collaborative platforms: the Organic Optoelectronic Materials Innovation Center, the Central Plains Specialty Food Engineering Research Center, and the Applied Chemistry Research Center. Notably, its Environmental Engineering Technology Teaching Resource Database was listed in Henan's 2022 Vocational Education Resource Development Program, while the "Eco-Environmental Virtual Simulation Training Base" project ranked first in the provincial demonstration initiative. Academic contributions include 50+ published textbooks, 1 National-Level Quality Course, 4 School-Level Quality Courses, 1 Provincial High-quality Online Open Course, 10 University-Level High-quality Online Open Courses, and 44 core discipline-specific courses. Over the past three years, the School has produced 100+ high-impact research papers, completed 100+ provincial/ministerial research projects, secured 30+ national invention patents, and generated over 5 million yuan in technical service revenue. Its water-saving innovations for Yellow River irrigation districts have delivered nearly 3 billion yuan in socioeconomic benefits.
